When you look at it from an earthly perspective, Jesus neither lived long or prospered. He died at a young age, and didn’t accumulate any earthly possessions whatsoever. His life ended with the world considering Him a false prophet and a fool.
Yet, God has given Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Everyone in heaven and on earth.
My desire is to have the mind of Christ, being only concerned with “living long and prospering” in eternity. To lay aside what I could attain or achieve in this life by receiving the eternal life Jesus attained for me and now freely offers.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart,
His wounds have paid my ransom.

At least the Christian can still have “Rapture me up, Scotty.”
Ok, that was bad.
